Heroes of Troy

Heroes of Troy by Slava Iemelianenko

Selected for the 2025 London Art Biennale, Ukraine. 98x27x12cm.

Many thousands of years may pass, and humanity may reach unprecedented scientific heights, but wars will not cease. Why? Perhaps because pure good cannot exist without evil, life without death, Cain without Abel, an angel without a demon. Regardless of cultural, psychological, or social context, this interplay of black and white within the human being creates certain historical patterns that keep repeating. So, does the human being and their consciousness change over time? No. The Achaeans and the Trojans still exist today — we can recognize them within ourselves.
