LIN, HUIHSIU’s painting, Lidded Ritual Food Cauldron (Bronze Ding) with Interlaced Dragons, together with his Chinese landscape works, reflects his dedication to preserving traditional Chinese art, imbued with a quiet spiritual depth. As a practising Buddhist, LIN, HUIHSIU brings a sense of serenity and contemplation to his work. Through his acclaimed bronze still life series, he unites traditional values with technical mastery. Recently, he has explored merging bronze still life with landscape painting, evoking the refined grandeur of ancient imperial settings and inviting modern audiences to reflect on the enduring beauty of the past.

Lin Huihsiu (b. 1958, Pingtung, Taiwan) is known for his classically composed still-life paintings and as a collector of Chinese antiques. Deeply influenced by Buddhist philosophy, his work unites traditional values with masterful technique. Inspired by Henk Helmantel’s depictions of Chinese bronze ware, Lin produced a celebrated still-life series, distinguished by majestic realism, fine craftsmanship, and richly textured detail.
