Salamandre

the magic garden

the magic garden by Salamandre, Oil on canvas, 2024

Selected for the 2025 London Art Biennale, France. Oil on canvas, 2024. 54x65cm.

The drapery is elegant, the color deep, the movement supple. thanks to the glass that overturns, the flowers grow. The water, so free, flows in cascades, playing with the folds, towards a sea as dark as the future of this nature if we do not defend it. Will it be able to adapt to this human-dominated world? A swallow flies and escapes.

Self-taught, nomadic at heart, traveling by sea, in the wilderness, within different cultures, Salamandre has always made surrealist, poetic oil paintings, peopled with symbols and hijacked objects to awaken our freedom to dream. To look differently. Salamandre tries to call attention to the nature to which we belong and which brings us so many benefits, to respect it, to stop wanting to dominate it, to listen to its wisdom, to see its beauty, to defend it.
