Rusa Trajkova
Mantis
Selected for the 2025 London Art Biennale, Croatia. Acrylic on canvas, 2025. 82x152cm.
Observing the fascinating world of nature, while simultaneously looking at the sculptural form of insects, especially praying mantises, I felt a connection to nature and admiration. The so-called spiritual vibration of creation resonated with nature and as a prophet led me to a form that was woven into a moment in time.
Rusa Trajkova is a coloristic expressionist artist based in Croatia. She explores vibration and the interrelation of the colors and dedicated her life to the study of colors which she considers to be a universe in itself. Colors allow her to express an impression. Rusa studied at Academy of fine arts in Sarajevo and her work is known for bright colors and the constant search for connections, motion and balance between colors, feelings, sounds and shapes. Past exhibitions or recognitions include colorful paintings on large canvases and her recent practice is inspired by nature and flawless fixation on objects, feelings, and living beings that surround us and give us a different perspective to physical experience, which is woven into the work through the spiritual vibration of the artist.
