When a star explodes it gently sheds its outer layers, which then form a colourful cloud called a nebula. As a young powerhouse of colour and light and precursor to new stars, a nebula is sometimes called a ‘stellar nursery’. As a colourist, I’m intrigued by how such a powerful burst of energy can form the genesis of transformative light and colour in a near perfect vacuum. In this painting I’ve depicted a moment in time when a cloud of colour gathers it momentum to make its transformative vibrations felt.

Originally from Sydney, Australia, I’m a contemporary artist now living in South Devon, England. Inspired by abstract form and the vibrations of colour, painting is my way of creatively documenting the full gamut of my sensory experience.
