Amid the pressures of a global health crisis, nursing professionals were faced with harrowing conditions. Across the workforce, trauma, burnout, and fatigue became daily realities, compounded by a cold social environment with limited support. Despite this, their unwavering commitment to care remained while those in positions of authority breached the very restrictions they imposed. This work re-centres attention on the integrity, bravery, and resolve of those women and men who stood at the frontlines.
