What I Overlooked

What I Overlooked by Yido Yu, Ink on Hanji (Traditional Korean paper), 2025

Selected for the 2025 London Art Biennale, South Korea. Ink on Hanji (Traditional Korean paper), 2025. 76.5x147cm.

This piece encourages the viewer to reflect how, on a daily basis, we use our given skills and talent in unintentional artistic endeavour. Its intention and aim is to encourage us to re-evaluate what is often experienced as mundane or automatic in the execution of seemingly non-artistic tasks. These undertakings, whilst often appearing simplistic and without challenge, often actually encompass one or more abilities which may not readily be identified by those engaged in their application.

I am a creative practitioner based in London. I previously studied animation in South Korea and illustration at Kingston University in the UK. I am currently developing my own style and perspective as a creator, with a radical approach to drawing, and finding pure joy in the process of creative discovery.
