Sebastian Roese
Körper und Raum 3
Selected for the 2025 London Art Biennale, Germany. Acrylic on canvas, 2025. 24x35cm.
The body in space casts shadows and takes up space. It is in harmony or creates tension. The three-dimensionality is visible as time rigorously advances. The body is transient and new things are constantly being created. Like a crossfade, the change happens smoothly. The light of the world reveals what is hidden while allowing it to happen. Really?Three-dimensional figures writhe while sometimes ignoring the rules of perspective and light. The scenes are unmanageable, surreal and question our understanding of reality.
Sebastian Roese is a freelance artist from Germany.Inspired by statements by Paul Klee, he does not want to portray the visible, but rather visualize the supernatural world he feels through his soul. His paintings have been purchased by individual collectors and shown in various exhibitions and publications worldwide. He has realized extensive art projects for various companies such as Deutsche Bahn and Sparkasse.
