Michael Davydov

“Birch grove” is a folded and fragile image of a native home, standing on the thin legs of our memories. This is the author’s nostalgia for native birch forests, for time with family, designed in the style of northern folklore. This sculpture, part of a series of fantasy tiny architecture, was created by a person for whom the concept of home became multifaceted and especially sensitive in a long migration.

Mikhail Davydov, an artist born in 1996 in a small town on a river in central Russia. The theme of harmony between home and nature is the main leitmotif of his work, which consists of memories, nostalgia for his native land and thoughts about searching for his home. Each work is a reflection on large things, through small and laconic forms. These are themes about the internal, physical and global home.
