Climbing up or down
Selected for the 2025 London Art Biennale, Belgium. Acrylic on cradled panel, 2024. 60x60cm.
This piece was created using collage, multimedia components, and a limited palette. Paper fragments from forgotten stories were combined with layers of paint, to construct a complex narrative, open to interpretation. By choosing red as the primary colour, I focus on depth and simplicity, while letting each hue interact and express my vision. The process employs an intuitive approach to layering elements without predetermined outcomes, utilising creative methods for composition. It’s about adding and removing in a selective, decisive way. After refining and evaluating, when the balance feels right, I can let it go and let the painting speaks for itself. Creativity is my way to relax. I create honest and expressive paintings. In my studio I give my heart and soul while creating. My art channels my feelings and ideas.
