Hannah Jones
Fuse
Selected for the 2025 London Art Biennale, United Kingdom. Acrylic on paper, 2021. 50x70cm.
“Fuse” is an abstract artwork that explores the intricate relationship between creation and the experience of isolation, through a vibrant fusion of colours and layered techniques. On a deeply personal level, the piece reflects the artist’s connection to music that shaped their childhood during a time of solitude. The creation process was accompanied by the sounds of albums that flooded the artist with nostalgia, reviving the moments of youth and connection amidst those feelings. In doing so, the artwork captures the essence of those formative years and the emotions intertwined with connections and experiences.
Hannah Jones (born in Wales) is an abstract painter who has recently returned to the UK after six years abroad. Currently exploring sculpture following her residencies in Mexico, NY, and Portugal, she primarily works with acrylics and inks on canvas and paper, exhibiting her works internationally. Jones creates abstract compositions by building layers of colour that reflect different emotions and themes, translated into visible and hidden layers, each informing the finished piece.
