Billy was a dear friend and massive supporter of the arts. He passed away a few years ago and I managed to source some photographs of him that I could use to make this portrait. I only hope to honour a good friend and great man.

With my work I hope to create a sense of relationship between artist and subject, a connection that surpasses boundaries and has no label, past a sexual element, past model and artist. I want to connect more people to art by creating direct portraits that engage in conversation, forcing direct eye contact with the image. It is the way in which we are most vulnerable, most exposed and connected on the most human level.
