It Is So

It Is So by Daniel Remer, Archival Pigment Print, 2025

Selected for the 2025 London Art Biennale, United Kingdom and Israel. Archival Pigment Print, 2025. 80x62cm.

In this piece, a rusted pipe gives life to a young plant – a stark, contemporary take on themes of decay and renewal.

Daniel Remer was captivated by photography from a young age but transitioned into filmmaking during his late teens. Remer is a graduate of the London Film School. His passion for still photography was rekindled during the Covid-19 pandemic, prompting a return to the medium that first inspired him. Drawing influence from early Metaphysical and Surrealist painters, Remer finds the extraordinary in everyday items. Carefully sourcing and placing each object to bring his inner world to life, he has developed a distinct visual language that delves into existential themes through carefully composed still-life images. Remer employs a photographic technique known as light painting, which requires meticulous preparation to create the rich colors and intricate textures that populate his photographs. This fusion of technique and artistic vision has already begun to earn him awards and recognition.
