Coffee & Copper Art

Crafted with acrylic paint, recycled coffee grounds and copper leaf, Screw Fast Food replaces nourishment with hardware, offering both a visual pun and a sharp critique. By filling a fast-food container with screws, I challenge the culture of instant gratification – inviting viewers to question what they are really consuming. With biting irony, my work asks: when everything is dressed up as luxury, what are we really being sold?

I am Dani Jud, a 38-year-old artist from Austria. My motivation has always been to develop a distinctive style by using a unique combination of materials. In 2018 I began exploring the use of dried coffee grounds and how to adhere them to the canvas. Preserving the fluffy texture of the coffee was crucial to me, leading me to abstain from blending it with conventional adhesives or paints. The shiny copper leaf provides a striking contrast to the coffee’s matte finish.
