Charles Haynes

Cupola is a cornerstone of CH’s first works. This bronze sculpture reimagines the Yorkshire Wolds through a contemporary sculptural lens. With its gentle curves, Cupola captures the intersecting lines of field boundaries, the geometric rhythms of the land, and the vast openness of the sky. The piece reflects the enduring beauty of the natural landscape, interpreted through a modern aesthetic. Charles Haynes creates work grounded in personal observation and lived experience. For him, everything begins with drawing, an intuitive process where thoughts become lines, and lines evolve into form. ​Constantly attentive to the world around him, Haynes draws inspiration from anthropomorphic forms and the natural environment, particularly the rolling landscapes of his native Yorkshire Wolds.
