On The Second Day
Selected for the 2025 London Art Biennale, United Kingdom. Ink on paper, 2024. 5x76x106cm.
Original Ink Drawing. This composition portrays Christ not just in death but on the brink of resurrection, surrounded by the forces he overcomes. The lion and lamb affirm his dual nature—both powerful and sacrificial—while the sea creatures reflect the depths of sin and chaos he redeems. The image invites reflection on the transformative power of Christ’s sacrifice, suggesting that from turmoil comes salvation, from suffering comes triumph.
My work explores the intersection of history and transformation, drawing from the intricate symbols and processes of medieval alchemy to reflect on the shifting political and cultural landscapes of today. My compositions therefore blend the mysticism of medieval alchemy with the urgency of modern political change.
