While painting ‘Kindred Spirits’ I took myself back to the base of the Grand Canyon, to where I had hiked with Alan, my husband to be. I remember the wonder of those ancient rocks bared to the sky by the mighty river and the privilege of being there. In this harshly beautiful place, the importance of family and friends keeping each other safe is intensely heightened.
