Anna Alsina Bardagí

Mitosis is a sculptural exploration of division and unity, crafted from eco-optical glass using kiln casting techniques and optical-precision polishing. Standing 26 cm tall and weighing 13 kg, this one-of-a-kind piece examines the interplay between symmetry and dynamic movement. The intricate internal formations were created via experimental cold-working processes before the melting stage. Through optical illusions and layered transparency, Mitosis invites viewers to contemplate the microcosmic forces that govern growth, change, and interconnectedness.

Anna Alsina Bardagí is a contemporary glass artist from Barcelona whose work explores the dynamic relationship between glass, light, and form. Working with eco-optical glass, she uses kiln casting and cold-working techniques to shape internal structures that shift and reveal hidden dimensions as the viewer moves around them.
